Message from Dr. T.M. Sunil ...
"I was extremely pleased to learn that Sri Aurobindo Vidya Mandir is
planning to launch its own website. This is definitely reflective of a progressive
and modern outlook.
The advent of the internet has led to a universal breakdown of
political and geographic boundaries. People all over the world are in instant
communication with one another and transfer of information, which, in
the past used to take days or weeks, is now merely dependent on how fast
your computer can download information.
The impact of telecommunications has been tremendous. This is
particularly
true for nations like India, where the benefit has been two fold.
Today,
Indian students and scientists not only have instant access to the
latest
developments in science and technology elsewhere in the world but even
more
importantly, have a universal platform to showcase their capabilities.
Consequent to this, the world has come to recognize the tremendous
potential
that our nation has and indeed regards India with a lot of respect.
With the launch if its own website, the Sri Aurobindo Vidya Mandir along
with
other institutions under the Rajajinagar Education Society is making
its
entry into this world where boundaries do not exist. Any person with
access
to a computer, sitting anywhere on this planet can learn of our
educational
institutions and can understand and appreciate the guiding principles
governing its day-today activities. The website also provides us a
platform
to declare our achievements to the world. It is in addition, a valuable
tool
for correspondence with parents and guardians of children who study in
our
institutions. It is true that often great ideas and thoughts go unsaid
or
unheard simply because a person was too shy or timid to express
them.The
relative anonymity of a computer screen is often a great motivator for
people who are otherwise shy and introverted and our website must
exploit
this to the maximum.
It would be ideal to have a section where parents
or
guardians can express their views or opinions over the website. Of
course,
this does have the inherent risk of opening a pandoras box and also
leaves a
channel open for misuse. Nonetheless, it has been repeatedly
demonstrated
that the advantages of receiving one good suggestion often outweigh the
risks of a few mischievous comments.
I congratulate the progressive thinkers of the Rajajinagar Education
Society
and all educational institutions under its flag for having taken this
step.
I wish you all the very best in this endeavour.
